I had joined the “Street Team” to help promote Tom Woods’ new book Diary of a Psychosis: How Public Health Disgraced Itself During COVID Mania. My plan was to write an Amazon review and a post on my blog to help promote it, but Amazon is not publishing my review for some reason. Maybe they didn’t like that I didn’t buy the book on Amazon? Maybe the review is too spicy for them? I don’t know. Amazon has been radio silent.
Therefore, I’m just going to provide my Amazon review below (with a few alterations since I don’t have to watch my wording on my own blog—don’t worry, there’s no profanity). I’m also going to comment on the two supplemental ebooks Tom Woods provided and then end the post with something that’s been on my mind ever since I finished reading all three.
The Amazon Review (Modified)
Diary of a Psychosis is a selection of emails Tom Woods sent to his subscribers from March 23, 2020 through June 1, 2023 and sits at just a hair over 400 pages. Don't let that be daunting, though. You're not reading someone's doctoral thesis. You're reading someone who was writing to a general audience.
Contained in those emails, you will find excerpts from news articles, video clips, social media posts, emails that listeners sent him, charts, and of course, commentary by Tom Woods himself. Despite the depressing and infuriating topics Tom Woods covered, he is an insightful and entertaining writer.
The best part about reading this book was being able to observe over two years of events in a short amount of time and see just how crazy the whole situation was. Even though it didn't seem like it at the time (and you wouldn't if all you did was watch cable news—right, left, or otherwise), it was pretty obvious that the lockdowns and other measures were not working by May... of 2020.
By August, 2020, the ridiculousness of the protocols were being felt and it became blatantly obvious that the “experts” were less concerned about the facts and more concerned about an agenda to control and coerce the population.
All throughout 2021, you saw the sacred cows of masks, disinfecting everything, plexiglass barriers, and even lockdown measures being slaughtered. At the same time: the press, government bureaucracies, and social media companies continued to suppress new information and different opinions. They were even throwing their own guidelines down the memory hole. "What? It's crucial for babies to see human faces as part of their development? We never said that. See, it's not on our website [any longer]." (If you don’t believe me on this, read the chapter for August 19, 2021, p. 258 (for the hardcover version))
You'll be reminded of the stories all over again. Remember when California opened up when they were experiencing higher death rates compared to a few months prior? Remember when the "experts" said things could go back to normal after getting the covid shot because the shot would keep you from spreading the virus? Remember when YouTube took down the video of the round table discussion of experts facilitated by Florida's governor Ron DeSantis because they weren't parroting Fauci's talking points?
If you’re sensitive to conspiracy theorizing, don’t worry. You won't find in this book anything about covid being a hoax, not a real virus, etc. There's nothing about a new world order or anything like that. The only two big conspiracies, if you will, are these questions: 1) Why did our rulers and “experts” lie about the deadliness of SARS-CoV-2?; and 2) Why did our rulers and “experts” continue their destructive covid programs—especially for as long as they did—when it was clear they weren’t working?
This is the biggest takeaway of the book: The lockdowns, the mask mandates, and everything else, did not stop the spread of the virus. In fact, from the charts and the studies, what you will find is that there was not a whole of difference between states and countries that locked down and those that did not. The conclusion: the lockdowns and hysteria were useless to stop covid, but they did do incalculable damage in many other ways.
What happened 2020-2022 cannot be swept under the rug. It can't be forgotten. We can't just move on. This is why Tom Woods' Diary of a Psychosis is an important book. It's why I hope every year there will be a new book by another author on the negative effects of the covid lockdowns and hysteria. And I hope that each and every one of those books get promoted to high heaven by all the dissident voices.
If it turns out that 10-15 years from now our children grow up to be maladjusted or ill-equipped for the world—because they lost precious time during their development, or their grandma died of cancer because the hospitals refused to screen her, or they couldn't play catch with their dad because the "vaccine" injured him—books like Tom's will not allow the guilty to scratch their heads and wonder "What happened to the children?" We'll know—and we'll make sure the guilty know we know.
The Deleted Chapters
The first of the supplemental ebooks Tom Woods provides (for free) is The Deleted Chapters. They are just emails that didn’t make it into the main book.
After reading them, I can kind of understand why Tom Woods chose to omit them. While they provide good information, some of the chapters were a little more on the technical side. Other chapters were follow ups to chapters in the main book that didn’t really add much. Some were just on celebrities who began to speak out on different covid measures. Lastly, there were a number of emails focused just on New York. Like I said, they’re all interesting to read, and they will remind you of other events that occurred and things that were said, but the chapters in the main book had more of an impact on me.
Probably the most fascinating chapter was from August 18, 2021 titled “Survey finds the ‘experts’ are actually deranged.” It showed a chart (recent at that time) that compiled survey answers from about 30 epidemiologists that made them look hysterical.
It shouldn’t be surprising, I suppose. The lockdowns, social distancing, quarantining, masking, sterilizing of everything, checking temperatures at the doors of businesses and institutions, testing for illnesses, “vaccinating”, and the ostracization of those who refused to go along, sure looked like something out of a germaphobe’s wet dream.
Collateral Damage
This is the true gem of the supplemental ebooks. Tom Woods gathered stories about the insane covid experiences of those who emailed him, as well as from listeners when he sent out requests for stories, and compiled them into a book. Tom Woods also graciously put my story in it.
Reading these stories, you will do everything from shake your head in disbelief to quietly seethe. I think there is only one amusing story in the entire book about a guy who made a whole hotel security team look like fools.
You will see in these stories raw suffering, destroyed relationships, ruined livelihoods, and true ignorance on display from the people who hurt these storytellers. It further drives home the point that what happened in this world from 2020 onward was truly a psychosis.
I don’t want to go into many details with the stories written in this book because you need to read them for yourself.
I truly hope there will be many more books like Collateral Damage in the future. The stories of the average person need to be out there. They need to be recorded for future generations to read and to study. Academic papers need to be published. Documentaries need to be filmed. TV shows need to be produced. Novels need to be written.
This chapter in history cannot be buried.
My Final Thoughts: What is to be Done?
There was one sentiment throughout, especially in Collateral Damage, that I both understand (because I believe it myself) and get infuriated about. It’s this:
What happened to us was unforgivable. We can’t let what happened be forgotten. The people who inflicted this on us need to be held accountable. However, I doubt anything will happen to them. That’s just how the world works.
It’s the feeling of anger that an injustice was committed against you and your loved ones. It’s the feeling of powerlessness that you feel like nothing can be done to sate your anger because the people who hurt you will continue to enjoy their power, their prestige, their decadent lifestyles.
It’s these kinds of feelings that make a person want to escape the world so he no longer has to breathe the same air as these destroyers. Or, have dark fantasies about what he would do to these sociopaths if he had the means and opportunity.
Elderly parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, died in isolation. Family and friends died of diseases that could have been treated. Children committed suicide. Businesses that people poured their blood, sweat, and tears into were decimated. Relationships were irrevocably damaged. Men (especially) and women had their health permanently ruined by an injection that was forced on them to keep their jobs, careers, and social lives.
And we’re just suppose to shrug our shoulders and say we can’t do anything to these people? That we have to continue coexisting with them? That we can share a society and a civilization with them?
We’re suppose to remain tolerant of these people? Take them seriously? Be civil with them? Treat them with respect? Be understanding of them? Wish them all the best? Be the “better man” and not wish for their ruin?
I’m in agreement that a national divorce is necessary and new leaders need to be raised up. The alternative will be far less peaceful.
And if the alternative happens, then good riddance.
May your days be filled with grace (unless you’re one of the psychopaths who destroyed our lives).
